PFF Data Studies

PFF’s R&D department was also able to contribute to PFF’s draft coverage by producing numbers-based analysis on mock drafts and draft prospects. Timo Riske’s How simulating the draft and PFF WAR projections can forecast steals and reaches and Kevin Cole’s Investigating learning curves from college football to the NFL are must-read pieces for fans of the analytics-based approach to football.

College-to-Pro projections (listed alphabetically by player name)

Using the machine learning capabilities of AWS, PFF’s Eric Eager was able to construct a model that not only forecasts how a college prospect will fare at the NFL level but also gives NFL comparisons to the given prospect.
