- ESPN's Katherine Terrell is reporting that Bengals RB Giovani Bernard will participate on a limited basis in the team's upcoming OTAs. Bernard played in 10 games in 2016 and suffered a torn ACL in Week 11 against the Bills.
- Since being drafted in 2013, Bernard has led the team in running back receiving yards every season. His rookie season he finished eighth in the NFL among all qualifying RBs in yards per route run at 1.71.
- If he returns to full health, Bernard will be part of an interesting three-headed monster of a backfield in Cincinnati, joining veteran Jeremy Hill and rookie Joe Mixon. In the past, Bernard has dominated the team's RB targets, but with Mixon's strong receiving ability that might change.
- Before injury last season, Bernard posted the lowest overall PFF grade of his career at 69.1, ranking 31st out of 62 qualifying RBs. He also had his lowest yards per route run at 1.54, but still ranked 11th in that category.
