The Super Bowl came and went, and it lived up to the bill for the most part. The Packers won, which made me happy, but I couldn’t bet against the Steelers, so I’m a little lighter in the pocket than I was when the game started. Despite the relatively high scoring game against two of the league’s top defenses, there were some pretty outstanding IDP performances. So it’s time to take a look at the last Monday Morning Cornerback of the 2010 season.
With 6 solo tackles, and 8 total tackles, Chicago Bears safety, Ryan Clark, had a very productive day for his IDP owners. Clark finishes the season with an overall 1 PFF rating, and posted a negative 1.3 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
Ike Taylor was another Steeler DB who had a solid game, which should be the case given that the Packers threw it 39 times as opposed to James Starks running it a mere 11 times. Taylor was able to get 5 tackles in the game, all of them solo, and finishes the season with an overall 0.3 PFF rating, thanks to a 0.4 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
One of the best DBs during the regular season fantasy playoffs, Charlie Peprah was the games leading tackler. Peprah accumulated 9 solo tackles and 10 total tackles. Like a truly elite fantasy IDP, Peprah finished the season with a negative 8.3 overall PFF rating, with a negative 5.4 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
Defensive stalwart, Desmond Bishop, continued his strong play in the Super Bowl. He put up 6 solo tackles and 8 total tackles in the big game, and finished with a 31.3 overall PFF rating with a 0.9 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
Frank Zombo had a big game for the Packers after coming back from a knee injury. The undrafted rookie had 5 solo tackles and 1 sack against the Steelers. He finishes his rookie season with a negative 14.2 PFF rating, and a negative 3.8 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
Real life defensive hero, Nick Collins, managed to have a productive game for IDP fantasy purposes, thanks in part to his pick-six. Along with the interception and touchdown, Collins also had 4 solo tackles and 1 pass defended. He finishes the year with an 0.7 overall PFF rating after a negative 1.9 PFF rating in the Super Bowl.
