While Joe appears to be settling in now and hitting .500 with ease, Nathan righted the ship after last week's stumble to post wins in half of his games as well.
With half of the season to go, Joe has ground to gain but this is shaping up to be a much better race than it looked to be early on. Nathan is holding near the 50% mark on the season (he's at 49% now actually) and Joe is creeping up, pushing his season number over 43% with his last two good showings.
Nate is still crushing in the locks department, hitting on nearly two-thirds of his favorite picks.
Arizona @ Baltimore -13
Nathan: After the performance Baltimore put up last week, there is no way I can pick them to win by more than 13. Pick: Arizona and the points◄
Joe: The Jags played well, but some of it was Baltimore expecting to just show up and win I think. I am not a fan betting these big spreads usually, but we have a lot of them this week. Pick: Baltimore to cover
Minnesota @ Carolina -3
Nathan: This game I thought was more or less a toss-up, so even though I’m going with Carolina to win, I think it’s safer to take Minnesota and those points. Pick: Minnesota and the points
Joe: I am finally getting freed-up to watch some of these games now, and the Vikes were one of the teams I caught. I thought the final score was closer than the game played out, and I am still wondering how you don’t give it to your best player on the final drive to win. Pick: Carolina to cover
Jacksonville @ Houston -9.5
Nathan: Houston has been playing too well, and has a better offense than the Ravens. Pick: Houston to cover
Joe: The Jags got the sour taste out of my mouth from splitting on Sunday. This week looks to be another story though. Expect the Texans to cover this spread even though it may be close for a while. Pick: Houston to cover ◄
Miami @ New York Giants -10.5
Nathan: Miami tends to keep things close, as do the Giants, so an 11 point win is a bit too much. Pick: Miami and the points◄
Joe: I was very close to pulling the trigger on the ‘Phins last weekend. Boy am I glad I didn’t, because I probably would have broken something. That said I think they cover this weekend against an overrated Giants team … bye week or not. Pick: Miami and the points ◄
New Orleans -14 @ St. Louis
Nathan: The Rams secondary trying to cover all of the Saints' receivers? I hope the fans of New Orleans have enjoyed last week and this week. Pick: New Orleans to cover ◄
Joe: I forgot to change my pick last week with Bradford being ruled out. Same goes this week, because if Bradford is in I think the Rams cover this one. Pick: St. Louis and the points
Indianapolis @ Tennessee -10
Nathan: I don’t think Indianapolis is as bad as they played last week, although neither are the Titans. Still, 10 points is a bit much. Pick: Indianapolis and the points
Joe: This game couldn’t get here fast enough for the Colts. Part of me wants to take the points, but without Manning they are really bad. I will stick with Titans for now. Pick: Tennessee to cover
Washington @ Buffalo -7
Nathan: I like the Bills still, while the Redskins have been struggling more and more since the beginning of the season Pick: Buffalo to cover
Joe: The Bills are without Kyle Williams this week which is huge, but they should get a couple key guys back off the bye. Still laying a full 7 points is just something I don’t feel comfortable doing in this one. Pick: Washington and the points
Detroit -2.5 @ Denver
Nathan: While Detroit has lost two straight home games against good teams, I still think they can get the best of Denver. Pick: Detroit to cover◄
Joe: I will never bet on Tim Tebow in the NFL. Period. Pick: Detroit to cover
New England -3 @ Pittsburgh
Nathan: While Pittsburgh has been able to overcome injuries to defeat weaker opponents; beating the Patriots will be a lot more difficult Pick: New England to cover
Joe: The Patriots haven’t been this invisible team they are getting the credit for. Perception is everything when you are betting, and The Patriots have to be overvalued here. I hope to find some time to break down film on the Steelers, and possibly jump on them this weekend. Pick: Pittsburgh and the points ◄
Cincinnati -3 @ Seattle
Nathan: While both teams are good at defense, Cincinnati has the better offense. Pick: Cincinnati to cover
Joe: I think this is a good matchup for the Bengals especially if they let Dalton go to work with some quick outs. Seattle can be had in the spread, and Dalton has the ability to get the ball out quick. Pick: Cincinnati to cover
Cleveland @ San Francisco -10
Nathan: I think the 49ers will win, but I think it will be closer than you think because the Browns' defense is better than the 49ers' offense. Pick: Cleveland and the points
Joe: You won’t find me laying this number with the ‘9ers. I will try to take a look at the Browns more, but for now I have to take points. Pick: Cleveland and the points
Dallas @ Philadelphia -3
Nathan: I think this game is also a toss up, so my best chance is to take a team where I get points too. Pick: Dallas and the points
Joe: I am still looking into this matchup, and torn right now. A couple weeks ago I was itching to get anything under 4 on Philly, but they haven’t had a good game since they played Atlanta. Lets hope momentum, and a bye week has them ready. Pick: Philadelphia to cover ◄
San Diego -4.5 @ Kansas City
Nathan: The Chargers keep messing things up, and the Chiefs are a team on the rise. It makes this game very difficult to pick, and again easier to take the points. Pick: Kansas City and the points
Joe: The Chargers have not been playing well. I had a huge middle opp against the Jets last week, and they spoiled it ahead big at half. Rivers has been off looking very bad at times. Meanwhile KC has really put it together, and I think they give 'em hell. Pick: Kansas City and the points
