The new coaching staff for the Rams made it a point to get more protection for their young signal-caller Jared Goff by signing three-time Pro Bowler Andrew Whitworth.
- Whitworth has been graded at the elite level, a grade of 90 or above, four times, and at the “very good” level, a grade of 85.0-89.9, five times in his 11 season of the PFF era.
- Greg Robinson, who Whitworth is nominally replacing, has given up more pressures in three seasons, 105, than Whitworth has since 2011 overall, 97.
- In 11 seasons of grading, Whitworth’s lowest pass-blocking efficiency is 96.3, whereas Robinson’s highest is 94.0.
- Robinson will be moved to RT, kicking former RT Rob Havenstein inside to try the RG position.
