Fantasy Football: Week 14 red-zone report

  • RJ Harvey has taken over the high-value touches: Since J.K. Dobbins‘ injury, Harvey has dominated the red-zone touches and draws a positive matchup to take advantage of that workload this week.
  • Chase Brown is due for more touchdowns: Considering Brown’s workload in the red zone, he should be able to find more success and draw a good matchup to deliver this week.

The high-scoring areas of the field are the most valuable areas of opportunity for our fantasy football assets. This report will keep track of each team’s top performers in that area of the field, as well as the players getting the most opportunities in the red zone. Adding even more fantasy value to this report, we’ll also include each team’s opponent and their effectiveness when defending in the red zone to identify our best matchups.

Note: Plays called back due to penalties or plays with pre-snap penalties will not be included within the player data.

  • The Rams have been a top-three red-zone defense at limiting offensive success rate this season (27.0%), allowing just 15 red-zone touchdowns, the second-fewest.
  • Trey McBride has been regressing very positively from his low touchdown totals in 2024, as he’s been a touchdown machine this season, leading the position in red-zone touchdowns. McBride will be put to the test in a very difficult matchup this week, which could temper expectations.

Atlanta Falcons

  • Week 14 opponent: Seattle Seahawks
  • Total red-zone plays faced: 125 (9th)

  • The Seahawks red-zone defense ranks top-six at limiting offensive success rate (28.8%), while the Falcons red-zone offense ranks top-12 in that regard (36.3%).
  • Tyler Allgeier held the edge in red-zone carries over Bijan Robinson through the first 10 weeks of the year, though Robinson has out-carried Allgeier eight to four over the last three games. This has also led to three of Robinson’s five red-zone touchdowns on the year recently, putting him on a positive trajectory to be the best bet to overcome this difficult matchup.

Baltimore Ravens

  • Week 14 opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Total red-zone plays faced: 127 (8th)
  • Red zone successful pass plays allowed: 27.0% (3rd)

  • The Steelers rank as a top-10 unit overall at limiting offensive success rate (29.9%) while the Ravens have struggled significantly in the red zone, ranking 28th overall in offensive success rate (27.4%).
  • Derrick Henry is still the top option to overcome the team’s struggles this week as he’s dominated the carries in the red zone, and the Steelers’ weakness is at least defending the run so far.

Buffalo Bills

  • Week 14 opponent: Cincinnati Bengals
  • Total red-zone plays faced: 155 (1st)
  • Red zone successful pass plays allowed: 44.4% (29th)
