McMillan’s 89.5 receiving grade is the fifth-best among Power-Five receivers 6-foot-2 or taller in the last decade. The only receiver with more receiving yards during that time is CeeDee Lamb.

Head coach Dave Canales served as the Seahawks' passing game coordinator in 2020 and 2021, the years when D.K. Metcalf achieved double-digit touchdowns, as well as his career-high 1,303 receiving yards in 2020. He was the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023, when Mike Evans scored 13 times and posted his best receiving yardage total since 2018.

None of the Panthers' wide receivers last season had a target rate above 20%, and they didn’t have a consistent X receiver. This should allow McMillan to be the clear X and target earner in the offense, while the other players compete for the Z and slot role.
