- Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman says he wants “to be more disrespectful this year when I run the football.”
- His statement likely relates to last season in which Freeman averaged just 2.2 yards after contact per carry, placing him 43rd out of 56 running backs with at least 250 snaps. Freeman’s counterpart on the other hand, Tevin Coleman, averaged 2.7 yards after contact per carry and ranked 16th.
- Freeman also had less than half of his total rushing yards come after contact. His 46.7 percent of yards after contact percentage ranked 53rd out of the 56 qualifying running backs.
