ARIZONA CARDINALS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Kenyan Drake RB 60.3 N/A Ankle Questionable

Mario’s take: Drake left in the fourth quarter of the game in Week 7 due to a high ankle sprain and has not played since. He was limited in practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Drake is a game-time decision, and I believe he will play. The question with high ankle sprains is how effective the player will be when they return. Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara were never the same in the 2019-2020 season after returning from their high ankle sprains.

ATLANTA FALCONS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Calvin Ridley WR 81.5 N/A Foot  Out

Mario’s take: Ridley suffered a mild mid-foot sprain in Week 8. A typical return-to-play timeline for a Grade 1 mild mid-foot sprain is around one week. He missed Week 9, and the Falcons have a bye in Week 10.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Mark Ingram  RB 54.0 RB60 Ankle  Questionable

Mario’s take:  Ingram suffered a mid-to-high left ankle sprain in Week 6. He came back into the game with a heavily taped ankle but exited for good after just one carry. Ingram missed Week 8 and Week 9. He was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, missed practice on Thursday, and was a full participant Friday. Talk from the Ravens is they believe he returns in Week 10, and I am optimistic he returns.

BUFFALO BILLS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
John Brown WR 65.9 WR45 Knee (-)

Mario’s take: Brown missed practice on Wednesday but was a full participant at practice Thursday and Friday. I believe it was to manage his health; he should be ready to go for Week 10.

CAROLINA PANTHERS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Christian McCaffrey RB 76.0 RB44 Shoulder Out

Mario’s take: McCaffrey suffered a sprained A/C joint sprain when he landed hard on his shoulder late in Week 9. A Grade 1 sprain return-to-play timeline is one to three weeks. McCaffrey has been ruled out for Week 10.

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Joe Mixon RB 66.0 RB16 Foot  Doubtful

Mario’s take:  Mixon injured his foot in the first half of Week 6. He returned after halftime, but Giovani Bernard saw an expanded role. Mixon did not play in Week 7 or Week 8, and he rested during the Week 9 bye. Mixon did not practice the whole week. I do no expect Mixon to return in Week 10.

CHICAGO BEARS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
David Montgomery RB 77.4 RB47 Head Questionable
Cole Kmet TE 64.0 TE56 Groin Questionable
Mitchell Trubisky QB 70.4 N/A Shoulder Doubtful
Allen Robinson II WR 80.7 WR10 Knee Questionable

Mario’s take: Montgomery suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Week 9. He entered the five-step concussion protocol and has not practiced all week. The Bears have an extra day of rest due to playing on MNF, but I am not optimist Montgomery will be ready for Week 10.

Kmet has not practiced all week due to a lingering groin issue. I believe he will follow the same path, practice-wise, as last week. He should be good to go for Week 10.

Trubisky missed practice on Thursday and Friday. Trubisky likely misses another week with his shoulder injury.

Robinson was a limited participant at practice Thursday and Friday, but I expect him to be ready for Week 10.

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Nick Chubb RB 76.1 RB12 Knee Questionable
Odell Beckham Jr. WR 75.3 N/A Knee  IR

Mario’s take: Chubb has not played since Week 4 due to an MCL sprain. The Browns designated Chubb for return from the injured reserve on Monday. He has been practicing all week. I expect Chubb to return to action in Week 10.

Beckham tore his ACL in Week 7. I originally believed his foot inverting might have prevented an ACL tear, but that was not the case.  I believe he also damaged his meniscus. Beckham will undergo surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

DALLAS COWBOYS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Dak Prescott QB 85.2 N/A Ankle  Out

Mario’s takePrescott suffered a compound fracture in his ankle during Week 5. A compound fracture is when the bone has gone through the skin. It is unclear if he suffered multiple fractures or ligament damage, which would create instability.

DENVER BRONCOS

Courtland Sutton WR 72.9 N/A Knee IR
Tim Patrick WR 71.6 WR41 Hamstring (-)
Jerry Jeudy WR 66.9 WR16 Shoulder Questionable

Fant was a limited participant Wednesday and was a full participant at practice Thursday and Friday. He will be ready to play in Week 10.

DETROIT LIONS

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status
Kenny Golladay WR 81.6 WR81 Hip Out
T.J. Hockenson TE 78.7 TE2 Toe Questionable

Mario’s take:  Golladay injured his hip in the third quarter of Week 8. I believe he suffered either a Grade 1 or Grade 2 groin strain. A Grade 1 strain would cost him one to two weeks, while a Grade 2 strain would cost him three to six weeks. He did not play in Week 9 and missed practice all week. Golladay has been ruled out for Week 10.

Hockenson did not practice Thursday but was a limited participant at Friday's practice. He is trending up, and I am optimistic Hockenson has a shot at playing Sunday.

Player Pos PFF grade Consensus Rank Injury Status

Doyle suffered a concussion during the second quarter of Week 9 and has been placed in the five-step concussion protocol. He has been ruled out for Week 10.

D.J. Chark Jr. WR 73.2 WR23 Illness (-)
Gardner Minshew III QB 69.7 N/A Thumb Out
Laviska Shenault Jr. WR 73.5 WR68 Hamstring Out

Mario’s take: Westbrook was carted off in the fourth quarter of Week 7 with a torn ACL. He will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season.

Ozigbo reinjured his hamstring in Week 7 and has not played since. He did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 10.

X-rays showed that Minshew had suffered multiple fractures and torn ligaments in his thumb. He did not play in Week 9 and has been ruled out for Week 10.

Shenault injured his hamstring in Week 9. He came out and briefly re-entered the contest. Shenault pulled up on a route and subsequently missed the rest of the game. I believe he suffered a Grade 1 strain. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's and Thursday's practice, and he missed Friday's practice entirely. Shenault has been ruled out for Week 10.

Chark missed practice Thursday due to an illness but was a full participant at Friday's practice. He will play in Week 10.

Chris Hogan WR 56.1 N/A Knee  IR

Mario’s take: Darnold seemed to reinjure his shoulder in the fourth quarter. Just like in Week 4, when he initially injured his A/C joint, he battled through the rest of the game. I imagine the Jets will protect their franchise QB and sit him until after their Week 10 bye.

Hogan was injured in Week 5 and was put on IR. He underwent arthroscopic surgery and will miss at least eight weeks.

Wilson injured his ankle while scoring his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter of Week 7. He was placed on IR and will miss at least three weeks.

Garoppolo reinjured his high-ankle sprain in Week 8. This is a tough injury to deal with because you will be ineffective if you come back too early. He missed multiple games the first time around with this injury, and Garoppollo is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Kittle left the game in the fourth quarter of Week 8. It looked as if Kittle would suffer from a mild inversion ankle sprain, but X-rays revealed a small fracture in his foot. Kittle will miss the next eight weeks.

In Coleman’s first game back from IR, he exited early with a knee sprain, which is the same injury that caused him to go on IR earlier in the season. Coleman missed Week 9 and has been ruled out for Week 10. I expect him to come back after the 49ers' Week 11 bye.

Mostert injured his ankle in Week 6. He tried to return in the third quarter but was ruled out for the rest of the game. I believe he either suffered a high ankle sprain or a moderate-lateral ankle sprain. He did not play in Week 7, Week 8 or Week 9. I do not expect Mostert to return after the Week 11 bye.
