NFL Week 15 Game Recap: Los Angeles Rams 28, Washington Commanders 20

The Los Angeles Rams picked up their fourth win in five games, keeping their playoff hopes alive by moving to .500 on the year with a 28-20 triumph over the Washington Commanders.

Offensive spotlight: Matthew Stafford stayed hot after throwing for at least three touchdowns in each of his past three games. He recorded 258 yards and two touchdowns on 25-of-33 passing in this outing. Cooper Kupp led the way as a receiver, totaling 111 yards on eight receptions with a touchdown. Much of his damage came on a wide-open, 62-yard catch. Kyren Williams was the star out of the backfield once again, delivering 131 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Sam Howell couldn’t get much going for the Commanders' offense this week, totaling just 102 yards through the air with one touchdown and an interception. Following Howell’s interception, he was replaced by Jacoby Brissett midway through the fourth quarter. Brissett went 4-of-4 with a touchdown and 53 yards passing on his first drive, giving the Commanders some life late in the game. Brisset ended up leading another touchdown drive to bring the Commanders within one score before ultimately falling just short. Terry McLaurin led the team with 12 total targets, catching six of them for 141 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive spotlight: Commanders interior defensive lineman Daron Payne led the team in 2022 with 11.5 sacks, but this has been a down year for him in that department. However, Payne matched his season total in this game by coming up with two sacks of Matthew Stafford.

Rookie spotlight: Puka Nacua lived in Cooper Kupp‘s shadow in this game but was still a key part of the offense, seeing eight targets and catching five for 50 yards. Nacua also carried the ball twice for three yards as the Rams looked to find different ways to get the ball in his hands.
