- Nick Emmanwori is delivering on his IDP potential in Year 1: Emmanwori boasted an elite profile for IDP coming out of the NFL draft, and he’s looked every bit the part as he came through with another high-end performance this week.
- The Chicago Bears‘ linebacker situation requires some sorting: With T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell returning to the lineup, the Bears still didn’t use their usual deployment. D’Marco Jackson led the way as the lone full-time linebacker.

Week 14 takeaways
Waiver wire
- LB Owen Pappoe, Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals shook up their linebacker corps this week by playing Pappoe as the team’s new LB2, which meant that Akeem Davis-Gaither basically didn’t see the field. Pappoe is going to be a target in deep IDP leagues only right now as a part-time linebacker for rosters in need.
- LB D’Marco Jackson, Chicago Bears: Jackson is worth a speculative add on the chance that the team is planning on rolling with him over Noah Sewell until Tremaine Edmunds returns. Jackson is not necessarily startable next week, though worth an add as the Bears have a favorable playoff tackle schedule.
- LB K.J. Britt and Willie Gay, Miami Dolphins: Britt and Gay both played 100% of the defensive snaps once Tyrel Dodson left the game. Britt has been getting slightly more work than Gay this season, which likely puts him as the next man up should Dodson miss any time with his injury. Britt and Gay are speculative adds on the chance that Gay is considered the direct replacement for Dodson’s role while Britt is more of the Jordyn Brooks replacement.
- DB Avonte Maddox, Detroit Lions: For now, IDP managers can take a shot on Maddox as a replacement option for Brian Branch as the most likely beneficiary of increased playing time. It’s not a guarantee that Maddox’s usage will mirror what Branch had been doing this season (around 50% of snaps in the box and slot combined). Kerby Joseph is also a candidate for improved IDP usage, but for now, Maddox can be a speculative add for those willing to take a shot on the potential Branch replacement.
- DB Isaiah Oliver, New York Jets: Tony Adams is dealing with a groin injury and could potentially miss more time, which allowed Oliver to step into a full-time role. The Jets have been deploying their safeties closer to the line of scrimmage than most this season, which has led to some solid production in good matchups. Oliver played 39% of his snaps in the box and landed nine total tackles this week as a potential fill-in, as he draws a great tackle matchup next week against the Jaguars.
- S Will Harris, Washington Commanders: Harris moved back into an every-down role, which wasn’t the case in his first week back last week. Harris got an ideal deployment for IDP, playing a heavy dose of snaps in the box and around the line of scrimmage, adding a sack to his totals this week.
- ED A.J. Epenesa, Buffalo Bills: With Joey Bosa sidelined due to a hamstring injury, A.J. Epenesa stepped into a significant workload, and while he generated very little as a pass-rusher, he was able to come up with an interception in this game. Assuming that Bosa misses more time, Epenesa draws two positive pass rush matchups in Week 15 and 16 against the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns to provide some newfound deep league value.

- Point of interest: Josh Sweat was used sparingly in this game and didn’t show up on the stat sheet as a result. Sweat technically played the full game, but it’s possible he got banged up at some point, and his workload was being managed. IDP managers should monitor practice reports this week to get a better idea of what to expect from Sweat in Week 15.

- Rookie watch: James Pearce Jr. is now on a five-game sack streak after adding another one this week and continues to deliver on his dynasty potential as a first-round rookie edge with high-end pass-rush metrics coming out of college. Pearce is a potential streaming option depending on the matchups.
- Injury: Jalon Walker left this game early due to a quad injury and did not return. Walker, along with Pearce, has been one of the two bright spots for this Falcons defensive line this season, so hopefully the injury isn’t major.

| Jordan Fuller | 1.6% | 0.0% | 0.0% | 100.0% | 0.0% | 0.0% |
- Point of interest: This was an awful IDP showing for both Falcons’ safeties this week, and even in an average tackle matchup for the position, IDP managers would expect a lot more considering the prime IDP usage for both players. That usage should allow both players to bounce back and have an above-average tackle schedule for the fantasy playoffs.

However, Hamilton produced very little this week in a poor tackle matchup for the safety position. Hamilton will look to bounce back, though he owns one of the worst tackle schedules for the fantasy playoffs, which won’t make it easy for him.

- Point of interest: With Terrel Bernard sidelined for the second-straight game, Shaq Thompson remained the lone full-time linebacker and the best IDP option of the group for as long as Bernard is out. The Bills’ linebackers have a poor tackle schedule for the fantasy playoffs.

- Injury: Cole Bishop left this game early in the fourth quarter and did not return. Bishop’s injury isn’t believed to be serious. Some reports are calling it “cramping”, though IDP managers should monitor practice reports this week, as Bishop has been the team’s best IDP safety option this season.
