Fantasy Football: Best stacks for 2025

  • Why stacks matter in fantasy football: Stacking multiple players from the same offense is a great way to create positive correlation on your fantasy roster.
  • Don't forget about the Eagles' offense: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are great stack options with Jalen Hurts at an affordable price for a likely elite group.

Elite QB: Philadelphia Eagles

With one of the most concentrated target trees in the NFL and a quarterback who can explode in any game, the Eagles are my favorite team to stack among those with elite fantasy quarterbacks in 2025.

The Eagles’ defense dominated last season en route to the Super Bowl, but the unit may be due for some regression. We know defensive performance isn’t stable from year to year, and Philadelphia did lose some key contributors from last year’s squad. Because of the positive game scripts the defense provided last season, the Eagles' offense ranked last in pass attempts per game. If that number gets closer to a league-average rate, the team's passing game could be severely undervalued at its current ADPs.

Lowest Team Pass Rates in 2024

Team Pass Rate
Eagles 47.9%
Ravens 50.8%
Packers 51.8%
Lions 54.6%
Colts 54.9%

When Philadelphia decides to pass, it’s no secret to whom the ball is going. A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are head and shoulders above the rest of the team's receiving options. If and when one of those receivers misses time due to an injury, the other two receivers’ target shares go up without anyone else in the offense benefiting much. One of the best examples was in Week 3 last season against the Saints, when Goedert and Smith combined for 21 targets and 249 receiving yards while Brown was on the sideline.

While it may be a bit ambitious to stack Jalen Hurts with all three of his top pass catchers, getting either Brown or Smith with Goedert looks like a great bet heading into 2025.

Mid-Round QB: New England Patriots

Drake Maye is one of the lowest-priced fantasy football quarterbacks with elite upside. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry last year on his way to earning an 82.9 PFF rushing grade, and the new Patriots coaching staff has mentioned that they would like to use him in the designed run game a bit more in 2025. New England also has a bevy of cheaper stacking options, as the team's first skill player to get selected in drafts is rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, who often goes in the sixth round.

Most Yards After Contact Among QBs in 2024

Player Team Yards After Contact/Att.
Baker Mayfield Buccaneers 4.37
Drake Maye Patriots 3.81
Jayden Daniels Commanders 3.64
Caleb Williams Bears 3.25
Lamar Jackson Ravens 3.24

With a healthy Stefon Diggs and young players like Demario Douglas and Kyle Williams getting some positive buzz during training camp, the Patriots’ receiving corps looks much better than it did in Maye’s rookie year. Henderson and Hunter Henry should also be solid contributors in a new-look Josh McDaniels offense that should be more organized and explosive than what we saw last year.

New England also has one of the NFL's most improved offensive lines, which will give Maye more time to find those new weapons. With the combination of a promising, dynamic quarterback and a much-improved offensive environment, the Patriots' weapons could crush their ADPs this season and be the key to a fantasy football championship.

Late-Round QB: Tennessee Titans

Of the late-round fantasy quarterbacks available this season, Cam Ward looks like one of the best bets to start 17 games. And he has more upside than many of the veteran passers taken near the end of a best ball draft.

Outside of Calvin Ridley, it’s hard to know who will emerge in the Titans' receiver room. However, that does make all of them very cheap, as you can regularly find most of Tennessee's pass catchers in the 20th round of drafts that offer larger rosters. Chigoziem Okonkwo provides some upside at the tight end position after averaging a league-leading 2.62 yards per route run in 2022 — the best mark among tight ends over the past three years. With the lack of target competition around him and his ability to show high-end efficiency, Okonkwo could be looked at as a top-12 tight end by the season’s end.

The Titans’ top two running backs are also viable in a team stack. If Tennessee is better than expected and produces more positive game scripts, Tony Pollard should outperform his ADP. And if the Titans have a high pass rate, Tyjae Spears has proven he can handle a large receiving load after logging 12 receptions over his last three games in 2024.

With multiple avenues for the Titans' skill players to outperform their ADPs and a ton of team options available in the late rounds, Tennessee is a great team stack at the end of drafts.
