Viable low-cost options at each position in free agency

A lot of the free agency focus gets put on the top names available, guys like Byron JonesAmari Cooper and Chris Jones, who can step in immediately and offer elite production for their position. But if you head on over to PFF's Free Agency Rankings page and check out their projected contracts via Over the Cap, you'll see that those players don't come cheap. Teams in salary cap purgatory like the Minnesota VikingsJacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers won't be able to make plays on players in that price range. Instead, they'll have to shop around the margins. Read more…

It’s not the flashy option, but Tyrod Taylor could have success in LA

It was a rough two and a half games as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns before Baker Mayfield took over in 2018. During his time at Ohio State, his 95.4 pass-rushing grade comfortably bested the performances of fellow Ohio State products Nick Bosa (93.7) and Joey Bosa (93.0). Read more…

The SEC is losing an abundance of talent to the NFL next season. In my colleague Mike Renner’s latest mock draft, half the players taken in the first round were from the SEC. Yes, that’s right — half. As always, though, despite losing a phenomenal group of players, the conference still has an elite group returning in 2020. Read more…
