The Detroit Lions survived a comeback attempt by the New Orleans Saints and won 33-28 to move to 9-3 for the first time since 1962.
Offensive spotlight: Saints wide receiver Chris Olave played despite suffering a concussion last week and had a big game. He caught five passes for 119 yards, including an ill-advised pass from Jameis Winston that was likely on its way to being intercepted. Olave averaged 3.71 yards per route run in the game.
Defensive spotlight: The veteran addition of Bruce Irvin was a significant move for Detroit when it came to this game. Irvin notched a sack but also a roughing the passer call that cost the team a penalty and the Saints their quarterback, with Derek Carr forced from the game after that hit.
Rookie spotlight: The Lions' Sam LaPorta is on his way to the best rookie season of any tight end in league history. Against the Saints, he caught all nine of his targets for 140 yards and a touchdown. LaPorta broke three tackles after the catch and averaged more than 6.0 yards per route run.
