Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: 95.7 ADP (QB9)
Some fantasy football managers may be apprehensive with Hurts, but his upside is absolutely worth the selection in best ball formats. He only started four games for the Eagles in 2020 yet was the sixth-highest-scoring quarterback (98.5 total fantasy points) during those weeks.
Hurts’ passing ability left something to be desired, but his 267 rushing yards ranked second among all QBs from Weeks 13-17. The rookie's 47 rushing attempts ranked first, and his three rushing touchdowns tied for second. While his passing still needs refinement, his 10.1 average depth of target (aDOT) was second in the NFL among quarterbacks with 100-plus passing attempts.
The Eagles are not likely to be a good team this season — maybe not even very competitive. It likely won’t matter, as Hurts’ rushing upside provides one of the highest floors at the quarterback position, and his propensity to push the ball downfield as a passer increases his ceiling.
The best part about adding Hurts is that the best ball format will decide whether he's in your starting lineup — which is ideal when factoring in Hurts’ variance and tremendous ceiling.
