Although there's little time left before the Week 1 slate of college football games, betting value remains. And while it certainly diminishes as the week goes on and the lines sharpen up, that doesn’t mean we can’t look around and find edges.
At this point, it can be beneficial to look at the smaller markets, such as derivatives and props, where the lines are not quite as efficient. Here are some of my favorite remaining bets as the weekend nears.

North Carolina Tar Heels (-5.5) @ Virginia Tech Hokies
Projection: North Carolina -8.7
It’s always worrisome when the market doesn’t move in your favor, but the Tar Heels look like a good value at this price. There are major question marks about this Virginia Tech team, starting with a run-defense unit that ranked 112th in the country in success rate allowed last season. The front-seven depth is also very thin after several departures via the transfer portal, and there is reason to believe that the unit will continue to struggle in that regard.
