- According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David did not suffer a high ankle sprain against the Minnesota Vikings, which could have seen him miss 4-6 weeks. The injury is reportedly a medial sprain, and David is currently week-to-week.
- In Week 2, David ranked ninth among 36 qualifying inside linebackers with a run-stop percentage (percentage of plays against the run where a defender records a tackle resulting in a defensive stop) of 12.5. He finished with an overall grade of 91.3, the highest among all linebackers that week.
- David’s overall grade of 88.4 currently ranks second among linebackers, with only Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner higher.
