The Kansas City Chiefs got back to their dominant best as they took down the Chicago Bears, 41-10, at home to move to 2-1 on the season and drop the Bears to 0-3.

A dominant first half featured Patrick Mahomes throwing a pair of touchdowns to Jerick McKinnon, while Isaiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire both scored on the ground. In all, the Chiefs led 34-0 at the midway point.

The game was out of hand to the point where the Chiefs were comfortable replacing Mahomes, who had his ankle rolled up on late in the first half, with Blaine Gabbert late in the third quarter with the score at 41-0.

A Cairo Santos 21-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter ended the shutout, before a touchdown pass from Justin Fields to D.J. Moore, but the game was long gone at that point.

Offensive spotlight: While the attention as the game kicked off was on who sat next to his mom, tight end Travis Kelce had another big game on the field. He led the Chiefs with eight targets, catching seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.

The Bears' offense just can’t get going right now. Justin Fields went 11-of-22 for 99 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He didn’t play well, but those numbers were also impacted by receivers dropping passes and not winning at the catch point. Fields is struggling, but even when he is making throws, the Bears receivers aren’t making the plays necessary to win games.

Defensive spotlight: Chris Jones continued to impress in his return to the field and had a sack and tackle for loss in the win. L’Jarius Sneed and Mike Danna joined him with a tackle for loss each, while Justin Reid, Mike Edwards and Joshua Williams all had pass breakups.

The Bears struggled to get anything going on defense, They generated no turnovers and not much pressure on Mahomes. Linebacker Jack Sanborn and Quindell Johnson made plays after Mahomes left the game, though, picking off backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Jaylon Johnson and Terell Smith each had a pass breakup and a tackle for loss on the day.

Rookie spotlight: Second-round wide receiver Rashee Rice continues to play a part in the Chiefs' offense, pulling in five of seven targets for 59 yards in this contest.

Bears rookie running back Roschon Johnson wound up leading their running backs in carries, turning eight attempts into 38 yards and adding a pair of catches for 11 yards on his only two targets in the game.
