The New York Giants traveled across the country to take on the Arizona Cardinals after an embarrassing 40-0 Week 1 drubbing at the hands of the division rival Dallas Cowboys, and through the first half, the Giants were down 60-0 on the season. New York slowly but surely battled its way back from down 20-0, though, to win a 31-28 stunner.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was nearly perfect in the second half, spreading the ball around to a half dozen different pass catchers.

Offensive spotlight: After getting shut out in the first half, the Giants responded with a flawless second half, scoring points on every possession. Quarterback Daniel Jones was lights out, with a stat line of 17-of-21, 259 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also tacked on seven carries for 44 yards in the second half.

Cardinals running back James Conner had 23 carries for 106 rushing yards and a touchdown, helping sustain scoring drives throughout the first half. Conner forced five missed tackles on first review.

Defensive spotlight: Giants safety Jason Pinnock continues to be all over the place in the secondary. He made three tackles for loss or no gain, four defensive stops and a game-leading 13 total tackles.

Cardinals edge defender Dennis Gardeck had another strong outing after a solid Week 1 performance, adding another sack to his tally along with a tackle for loss and two defensive stops. Safety Jalen Thompson also had an interception of Daniel Jones.

Rookie spotlight: Giants third-round rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt made two huge downfield receptions, including a 58-yarder on the first play of the second half to give New York life. Later, Hyatt high-pointed the football perfectly on a 31-yard grab. The Giants spread the ball around to various weapons, but when they needed an explosive play, Hyatt came up big.

Cardinals rookie wide receiver Michael Wilson notched two receptions for 37 yards, and rookie cornerback Keiā€™Trel Clark forced an incompletion and made a defensive stop.
