The Green Bay Packers squeaked out a very tough road win against the two-win Carolina Panthers, who put up a fight this week, but ultimately, Green Bay picked up their seventh win of the year on an Anders Carlson field goal with 19 seconds remaining.

Offensive spotlight: Aaron Jones put up a dominant performance on the ground Sunday, rushing the ball 21 times for 127 yards. Jones was unable to find the end zone because AJ Dillon and Jordan Love took the punch-in attempts for the team’s rushing scores. Love threw the ball 28 times, completing 17 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. Love’s top target, with both Christian Watson and Jayden Reed out of the lineup this week, was Romeo Doubs, who caught four passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Bryce Young had one of the better games of his rookie season, as he was able to exceed 200 yards passing for just the fifth time this season and also threw for more than one touchdown for just the second time all year. Young ended up completing 23-of-36 passes for 312 yards and two touchdown passes with no interceptions. Young spread the ball around with four different receiving options seeing at least five targets. D.J. Chark ended up leading the team with 98 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns on six receptions. Chuba Hubbard handled the large majority of the backfield work, carrying the ball 16 times for 43 yards and punching one into the endzone as well.

Defensive spotlight: Panthers linebacker Frankie Luvu was very effective in this game, not only coming up with a team-leading 10 total tackles but also delivering a sack and a forced fumble. Luvu now has 5.5 sacks on the year after delivering seven last season as a do-it-all off-ball linebacker and a highlight of this Panthers’ defense over the past couple of seasons.

Rookie spotlight: Packers fifth-round pick out of Virginia, Dontayvion Wicks, has stepped up over the past two games with injuries to the wide receiver corps, coming up with 97 yards last week and another strong game this week. Wicks was targeted just two times but caught both passes for 29 yards, including one for a touchdown.
