Colts CB Justin Walley suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s preseason opener

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Justin Walley suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens and will miss the entire 2025 season, according to head coach Shane Steichen.

Walley was selected in the third round of this year’s draft. He was having an excellent camp and was set to start Week 1 opposite Charvarius Ward. In his final season at Minnesota, Walley forced 10 incompletions and allowed just one touchdown and a 57.8 passer rating against.

Losing Walley for the season is a big blow for a Colts secondary that ranked 10th in PFF's rankings heading into the season.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill misses another practice Friday

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has sat out the past few days of practice while dealing with an oblique injury, according to the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad.

The team is likely exercising caution with their star wideout, who during last year's camp suffered a wrist injury that lingered all season long and ultimately required surgery.

Now 31 years old, Hill is past his prime but is still one of the more dangerous weapons in the NFL. He was the highest-graded wide receiver in the league in both 2022 (92.1) and 2023 (93.4) in his first two seasons with the Dolphins.

Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue dealing with a bruised ankle

Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue left Thursday’s practice with a bruised ankle and could miss some time, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Blue was running with the first team offense earlier in the week when Miles Sanders missed time with a knee injury. The fifth-round pick out of Texas has been pushing Sanders and Javonte Williams for playing time in a backfield that hasn’t seen anyone separate into the lead role to this point.

Blue got his chance as a featured back last season at Texas after he was delegated to a backup role for the two years prior behind some elite talent. He showcased impressive elusiveness, forcing 37 missed tackles on 140 rushing attempts.

Keaton Mitchell solidifying his spot as the Ravens’ RB3

Keaton Mitchell has “solidified his spot as the No. 3 RB” on the Ravens’ roster, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec.

Mitchell had a strong preseason opener Thursday night, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on nine attempts and forcing four missed tackles in the process. The third-year undrafted free agent played a role on special teams, as well, as a kick returner.

Mitchell suffered a torn ACL in 2023 and played sparingly last season after making his return in November. With a clean bill of health heading into 2025, he has the opportunity to push Justice Hill on the depth chart as the team’s immediate backup to star Derrick Henry.
