If the preseason is any indication, the New England Patriots are as improved as they looked on paper, especially thanks to their newcomers.
In the team's second August win, fourth overall pick Will Campbell started at left tackle and didn't permit any pressure on seven pass-blocking snaps. Second-round running back TreVeyon Henderson scored in his second straight contest and totaled four carries for 20 yards, with 16 coming after contact.
Undrafted free agent Efton Chism III certainly contributed to New England's triumph, racking up six catches on six targets for 71 yards, a touchdown and an 86.2 PFF receiving grade, pending final review. Former Vikings starter Joshua Dobbs also made a homecoming, going 11-for-16 for 106 yards, a touchdown and no turnover-worthy plays or sacks.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
The Patriots‘ starting defense looked the part against Minnesota's backups, especially corner Carlton Davis III. The big-ticket free-agent acquisition played just six snaps but broke up his lone target. Davis generated a 90.3 PFF overall grade on first review.
