Zach Wilson Cleared To Return, Will Start Sunday

  • Wilson missed the first three games of the year due to a torn meniscus and bone bruise suffered in the team’s first preseason game on Aug. 12.
  • “He's very comfortable,” head coach Robert Saleh said. “He's in a great mental state. Everyone is comfortable with where he's at physically.”
  • The Jets went 1-2 during his absence, with Joe Flacco serving as the starter. He earned a 55.0 PFF grade in the three starts.
  • Wilson will return to the lineup with an unsettled offensive line. Mekhi Becton is out for the year with a knee injury, Duane Brown is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury and George Fant was just placed on injured reserve with his own knee injury. Conor McDermott is likely to start this week at left tackle, while rookie Max Mitchell sticks at right tackle.
  • The Jets' offensive line ranks 31st in pass-blocking through three weeks with a 48.9 PFF grade.

Los Angeles Chargers Lose Joey Bosa To Groin Injury

  • Bosa will undergo core muscle surgery and has been placed on injured reserve. The team is expecting him to come back at some point in the regular season.
  • Bosa has 1.5 sacks in three games this season, earning an 86.0 PFF grade. His 85.5 pass-rush grade ranks sixth among edge rushers.
  • Chris Rumph II and veteran Kyle Van Noy are likely to step in with Bosa out.
  • The Chargers also placed Pro Bowl left tackle Rashawn Slater on injured reserve after his season-ending biceps injury.

Detroit Lions RB D’Andre Swift Unlikely To Play This Week

  • Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters Swift needs to feel “significantly” better to play this week.
  • Swift has been dealing with a shoulder injury and did not practice on Wednesday.
  • Through three games, Swift has carried the ball 27 times for 231 yards. He’s earned a 69.7 overall grade.
  • Jamaal Williams rushed for 87 yards in Week 3 against Minnesota, earning an 86.7 grade, the best among running backs. He would be in line to get the start if Swift is indeed out.

Baltimore Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley Practices In Full

  • It’s the first time Stanley was a full participant in practice since last year.
  • Significant ankle injuries held Stanley out for all but one game last season and for the final 10 games in 2020. He has missed the first three games of this season.
  • Prior to the injuries, Stanley earned the second-highest PFF pass-blocking grade among tackles since the start of 2018. His 3.5% pressure rate allowed over that same stretch ranked fourth among players at the position. The former Notre Dame standout earned an 89.4 overall grade back in 2019, his last full season.
  • Baltimore has used three different left tackles this season as it waits for Stanley’s return. Ja'Wuan James tore his Achilles in Week 1 and Patrick Mekari was carted off with an ankle injury this past week, leading to rookie Daniel Faalele filling in for the rest of the game.
