Cleveland Browns lose LB Anthony Walker for the season
- Walker was carted off in the third quarter of last night’s game and tests confirmed a torn quad tendon.
- One of the leaders on Cleveland’s defense, Walker had a team-leading 113 tackles in 13 games last season. He earned a 69.1 PFF grade and 78.2 coverage grade.
- He was once again off to a strong start this season, earning an 82.7 PFF grade and 90.0 in coverage.
- Jacob Phillips is likely to take over for Walker as the Browns' starting inside linebacker. He recorded seven tackles and a sack last night, earning a 55.3 PFF grade.
San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle set to make season debut
- After missing the first two weeks with a groin injury, Kittle is finally off the injury report and will play on Sunday Night against Denver.
- Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters there will be no restrictions and he’s good to go.
- Kittle returns to the lineup the same week as Jimmy Garoppolo makes his first start of the season after Trey Lance’s season-ending ankle injury.
- Still one of the best in the league, Kittle was the highest graded receiving tight end last season with a 91.4 PFF grade.
