- Nik Bonitto now (deservingly) leads the NFL with seven sacks: Bonitto is proving that his excellent 2024 season was no fluke as he’s emerged as a matchup-proof IDP option here in 2025.
- The Carolina Panthers shake things up at the linebacker position: Christian Rozeboom was demoted this week in favor of Trevin Wallace, and while the production didn’t correlate this week, Wallace should now likely be the more widely rostered IDP option, if this usage holds.

Week 5 takeaways
Waiver wire
- LB Dorian Williams/Shaq Thompson, Buffalo Bills: If Matt Milano continues to miss time, then Dorian Williams will likely go back to replacing him in a non-full-time manner. If Williams also misses time as he did this week, then Shaq Thompson will have a shot to act as the LB2 and be useful in deeper IDP leagues.
- LB Trevin Wallace, Carolina Panthers: Christian Rozeboom lost the green dot and his full-time role to Wallace this week, as the team demoted Rozeboom, which means IDP managers should also adjust accordingly. Rozeboom now only becomes a deep-league option, while Wallace can be rostered in more formats going forward.
- LB Shemar James, Dallas Cowboys: If Jack Sanborn misses any time, James becomes an interesting deeper league option, as he won’t be a full-time player, but with the LB2 in Dallas out-tackling Kenneth Murray in each of the past four games, it’s possible that momentum continues even with James in that spot next week.
- LB Elandon Roberts, Las Vegas Raiders: Germaine Pratt was inactive this week due to a coach’s decision, which opened the door for Elandon Roberts to play more. Roberts played a more typical off-ball linebacker role, which wasn’t the case with Pratt, who was playing nearly half of his snaps on the edge and was a detriment to his tackle efficiency.
- LB K.J. Britt, Miami Dolphins: Britt played every snap with Tyrel Dodson out of the game and should be in consideration as an add for most formats, where needed, as this Miami LB corps has been incredibly productive this season.
- S Juanyeh Thomas, Dallas Cowboys: With Malik Hooker landing on injured reserve, Juanyeh Thomas stepped into a full-time role and delivered nine total tackles this week. Thomas is a fine option in deeper leagues to be streamed as needed.

- Point of interest: Josh Sweat delivered two sacks this week and is living up to his sleeper potential heading into the year, as he’s now up to five on the year. Unfortunately, the only thing holding Sweat back from being a locked-in weekly option is overall playing time, as he’d ideally be closer to 70% of his team's defensive snaps each week. This setup has been working for him so far, though, so he’ll still be worthy of a starting spot in lineups on any given week.
