Super Bowl DraftKings Showdown: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles

  • Best big-name player: A.J. Brown has been an unnecessary luxury in the playoffs so far, but the Philadelphia Eagles should heavily depend on Brown in the Super Bowl.
  • Best mid-priced player: Isiah Pacheco has become one of the most consistent players on the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense over the second half of the season and could play a bigger factor than usual.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, here are three players at different salary ranges who I believe will perform well in the DraftKings Showdown.

A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles ($9,200)

Brown has been quiet in the playoffs but is well-suited against the Chiefs' defense.

  • He’s caught seven passes for 50 yards and no touchdowns in the two playoff blowouts where the Eagles won by a combined 55 points.
  • Brown averaged 119 receiving yards a game in his last four regular season games.
  • The Chiefs allowed the ninth-most passing yards in the regular season.
  • Brown has excelled against man coverage this season, gaining 3.39 yards per route run against it this season, which is the most for a wide receiver with at least 120 routes against man.
  • Kansas City uses man coverage at the eighth-highest rate this season.
  • The Chiefs have been above average at shutting down wide receivers in the slot but below average out wide.
  • Almost all of Brown’s production this season has been out wide while DeVonta Smith has seen nearly 40% of his receiving yards come from the slot. That’s why Brown is here instead of Smith.
