Another week, another step closer to the Super Bowl for the eight remaining teams ahead of what looks to be an exciting divisional round weekend. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers join the fold after their wild-card bye weeks with mostly clean bills of health. TE Mark Andrews was set to return but this has been postponed until next week at the earliest (assuming the Ravens win) while the 49ers will get RB Christian McCaffrey and TE George Kittle back after they sat out Week 18.

While each of these eight teams has lost contributors throughout the season, it’s hard to envision any of them being in a better position health-wise. Let’s dive into each matchup and take a look at the status and trends of notable players ahead of a loaded divisional slate.

Saturday, January 20th

Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens

Fresh off a massive wild-card win over the Cleveland Browns, the Texans are relatively healthy but will be facing Baltimore without one of their top receiving options, as Noah Brown has been placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. WRs Robert Woods and John Metchie have been slightly limited in practice but should be OK come Saturday. Defensively, the Texans will be without EDGE Jerry Hughes once again, but rookie Will Anderson continues to ramp up from the ankle injury that slowed him last week.

The biggest news for Baltimore coming off their wild-card bye week was TE Mark Andrews‘ expected return, which has been postponed despite full practices Wednesday and Thursday. Isaiah Likely has performed admirably in Andrews’ place, and he’ll get another game to show off his potential.. Depth WR Tylan Wallace has already been ruled out with a knee injury, but the Ravens do expect to return Devin Duvernay this week. Defensively, the Ravens are still without CB Marlon Humphrey who was injured in Week 17.

Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers

The Packers' two-headed backfield continues to be dinged up, as AJ Dillon has been dealing with a neck issue dating back to Week 17. He has practiced in some capacity this week and will carry a questionable designation into the game, but his status will need to be monitored heading into Saturday. Aaron Jones has been limited due to knee and finger ailments all week but has no designation ahead of this weekend. Defensively, CB Jaire Alexander reinjured his ankle in the win over the Dallas Cowboys but is expected to play while EDGE Kingsley Enagbare has been ruled out.

The 49ers have the benefit of an extra week of rest, making them one of the healthiest teams remaining. RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) and TE George Kittle (back) have practiced in full this week and should not be limited come game time. The 49ers will be without EDGE Clelin Ferrell, and LB Dre Greenlaw will remain questionable after back-to-back limited practices.

Sunday, January 21st

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions

The best news for Tampa Bay at this point in the season is full participation from QB Baker Mayfield both Wednesday and Thursday stemming from a rib issue he has dealt with since the regular season. WR Chris Godwin (knee) was limited Thursday after missing Wednesday and appears to be trending positively while backup RB Chase Edmonds (toe) appears at risk of missing Sunday’s contest after not practicing on back-to-back days. Defensively, the Bucs hope edge rushers Shaquil Barrett and YaYa Diaby will be good to go after not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday.

Detroit’s bill of health appears pretty solid at this point in the season, as TE Sam LaPorta is the major story to watch. After minimal practice last week, LaPorta (knee) played without restriction in the Lions' win over the Los Angeles Rams but was downgraded from a full to a limited participant on Thursday. His Friday status will be one to watch along with WR Kalif Raymond, who has not practiced since his Week 18 knee injury. Of note, the Lions expect to return pass rush specialist James Houston from injured reserve stemming from an ankle injury suffered back in Week 2.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills

Kansas City continues to face question marks at WR, as Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney and Justyn Ross were all limited in practice this week. Moore returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since Week 15 and appears to be on track to play. The Chiefs do have question marks on the other side of the ball with two of their top defenders up in the air for Sunday. CB L’Jarius Sneed is dealing with a calf issue and has been limited in practice this week while DL Derrick Nnadi has not practiced this week due to an elbow issue.

WR Gabe Davis remains the major question mark for Buffalo after missing the wild-card win over due to a knee injury, and he has been officially ruled out for this weekend. The Bills have a bevy of defensive injuries worth mentioning, as CB Christian Benford and safety Taylor Rapp have not practiced this week while LB Terrel Bernard, LB Tyrel Dodson, CB Rasul Douglas, and CB Taron Johnson have been limited but appear on track to play.
