Quarterbacks
Chalk: Cam Newton ($8,600). Newton faces the Buccaneers, who have allowed 20 passing touchdowns against just one interception en route to ceding the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Newton is averaging nearly three total touchdowns per game over the last six weeks. This is a smash spot, and he deserves to be the chalk.
Chalk: Jared Goff ($8,400). Goff will square off against the Saints in New Orleans in a game with an over/under of 60. The Rams are actually underdogs, which means Goff should be throwing it more often than he has needed to so far this year.
Contrarian: Philip Rivers ($8,000). Seattle has given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, so Rivers isn’t a sure bet. But his projected ownership is below 2% and he’s been playing at a high level, averaging 2.5 touchdowns and over 285 yards per game.
