Quarterbacks
I’m going to continue last week’s trend and target two quarterbacks in the same game as cash game options that are in play this week. The Buccaneers travel to Charlotte to take on the Panthers in an NFC South matchup that’s slated for a ton of plays and scoring opportunities.
There’s no defense that’s started the year quite like the Buccaneers have. Their defense ranks last or next-to-last in just about every statistical category you can think of — passing yards, passing touchdown, completion percentage, yards per attempt, passer rating, and most importantly — fantasy points. Cam Newton enters this matchup red-hot coming off a season-high in both completion percentage and yards per attempt against Baltimore’s formidable secondary. He’s scored at least 24 FD points in five of his last six outings. His rushing production (44 yards per game) gives you a touchdown’s worth of fantasy points right off the bat. Now he gets a dream matchup, playing at home as 7-point favorites, and leads all quarterbacks in fantasy points according to our projections.
