Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Dobbs gets it done with his legs: Averaging 35 rushing yards per game, Dobbs has ranked as a top-10 quarterback in two of four starts in 2023.

• WR Jayden Reed plays an integral role for the Green Bay Packers in the red zone: Up against a leaky Las Vegas Raiders secondary, there’s potential for a big performance for Reed in Week 5.

Denver Broncos TE Adam Trautman hasn’t performed yet this season: Despite ranking 12th in routes run, Trautman has been a non-factor. This week, he could be a point of emphasis with the tight end being one of the Jets’ only points of weakness.

Week 5 marks the start of team bye weeks, which means filling out a fantasy football lineup amidst a number of injuries to key players and attempting to navigate tough matchups. Key to navigating those challenges in fantasy is the ability to work the waiver wire and identify potential streaming matchups even in the deepest of leagues. To help, here are five players to consider adding from the waiver wire in case of a fantasy football lineup emergency heading into Week 5.

WR:CB Matchup Chart

QB Joshua Dobbs, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals entered the season with the lowest of expectations after cleaning house in 2022, releasing their top wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and waiting for the return of starting QB Kyler Murray from a torn ACL. Oddly enough, the sky hasn’t fallen just yet in spite of that, with the offense having looked surprisingly competent despite the lack of personnel. A big part of that success has been the playmaking ability of Dobbs, who the team acquired just weeks ahead of the season opener.

So far this season, the Cincinnati Bengals have ranked middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. This defense has struggled specifically against running quarterbacks. In back-to-back weeks to start the year, the Bengals allowed 45-plus rushing yards to both Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson. As it just so happens, Dobbs’ legs are what’s put him in the position to succeed. Dobbs is averaging a full 35 yards per game on the ground this season with a 78.9 rushing grade ranks sixth among quarterbacks. If he’s able to take advantage of this game with his legs, expect another stream-worthy fantasy performance from Dobbs, who’s posted two a top-10 week in two of his four starts in 2023.
