Grading Highlight of the Week: CB Tevaughn Campbell, Saskatchewan
One of the biggest offseason storylines for the Roughriders was the return of Tevaughn Campbell. Drafted in the third round of the 2015 CFL Draft, Campbell left for the NFL in 2019 and appeared in 37 games before deciding to return north this season.
Campbell hasn’t missed a beat readjusting to the Canadian game. Over his first three contests, he surrendered 11 catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns while posting a solid 72.4 coverage grade. But it’s his recent play that has Saskatchewan thrilled about his comeback.
In Week 4, Campbell allowed just one catch on two targets for 25 yards and snagged an interception. After missing the following game due to injury, he returned this week and didn’t allow a single catch on four targets, adding another interception. His 88.9 coverage grade now ranks second in the CFL, and he’s proving every bit the impact player the Roughriders hoped for from a former NFL pro.
