Grading Highlight of the Week: QB Trevor Harris, Saskatchewan Roughriders
Trevor Harris led the Roughriders to a dominant 29-9 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this week, completing 21-of-27 passes for 307 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. On paper, it appears to be a standout performance. So why did his overall grade come in at just 67.9?
Harris posted a solid 77.8% adjusted completion rate and posted a 9.9-yard average depth of target. He led the league in the percentage of passes thrown beyond the sticks at 55.6% and recorded two big-time throws.
However, his grade dipped due to four turnover-worthy plays—the second-most of any quarterback this week, trailing only Bo Levi Mitchell’s six. In addition to the lone interception, Harris had three other throws that could have easily been picked off. He got away with them, which helped Saskatchewan cruise to victory, but PFF grades every play individually. Those four turnover-worthy plays significantly lowered his overall mark.
