We made it! While it didn’t look all that promising in the spring and summer, the NFL successfully scheduled and played 256 games. For the first time in league history, we’re going to get three playoff games on the same day (twice) and 14 total teams in the tournament. In a league where all division winners got a bye until 1990, only one team from each conference gets this week off, with great teams like Buffalo and New Orleans forced to face the league’s first-ever seven seeds.
What does this do to the handicap? We explored what 2019 would have looked like in such circumstances previously, but now that we have the teams and their relative strengths, we can simulate the rest of the season, powered by our friends at AWS.
