Marvin Jones worked out with Randy Moss in offseason

  • Lions insider Tim Twentyman reports that Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones has spent time working out with former NFL great Randy Moss. According to Jones, they worked on improving his route-running and consistency. Jones was PFF’s 45th-graded receiver in 2016 at 75.1 overall.
  • Jones started 2016 hot, grading as a go-to-guy over the first seven weeks of the season. During those seven weeks, Jones ranked third in WR Rating at 133.0, fifth in deep passing catch rate at 60.0 percent, and sixth in yards per route run at 2.36.
  • The course of the season rapidly changed for Jones after Week 7, as he regressed in all areas. He finished the season ranked 24th in WR rating at 99.0, 35th in deep passing catch rate at 36.0 percent, and 46th in yards per route run at 1.60.
