Jaylen Warren joined the Steelers in 2022 as an undrafted rookie, which led to a slow and steady decline in Harris’ playing time. He played a ridiculous 83.5% of Pittsburgh’s offensive snaps as a rookie, and that fell to 65.8% in 2022. He was down to 50.2% last season.

Harris signed a one-year, $5.25 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency. On one hand, that deal was better than Javonte Williams (one-year, $3 million) or Rico Dowdle (one year, $2.75 million) received in free agency this season. However, last offseason, players like Antonio Gibson and Devin Singletary changed teams, received more in guarantees and are both expected to be third on their respective depth charts this year.

Greg Roman’s offenses have typically been among the most run-heavy in the league. That should lead to Harris receiving a decent number of carries each week, even though he is unlikely to see as many touches as Omarion Hampton.
