Roschon Johnson has eight career rushing touchdowns, all from the 1- or 2-yard line. New head coach Ben Johnson tends to use a single goal-line back who ends up among the league leaders in rushing touchdowns.

Johnson has averaged 4.0 yards per carry on zone runs and 3.3 on gap runs. D'Andre Swift is better on gap runs, recording 4.9 yards per attempt on gap runs and 4.0 on zone in his NFL career. The Bears were more gap-heavy last season, but Johnson’s schemes have been more zone-heavy.

Johnson posted a very high first-down rate (30.9%) in 2024, despite averaging only 2.7 yards per carry while specializing in short-yardage situations, which led to a notably higher PFF rushing grade.
