- The Tennessee Titans have confirmed that rookie WR Corey Davis is “on track to start” against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, barring any setbacks. Davis has not played since injuring his hamstring in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- The Titans selected Davis with the fifth-overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft due to his dominance over a three-year career at Western Michigan. Davis received overall grades of 86.3, 88.1 and 86.1 from 2014 to 2016, never ranking outside the top 10 wide receivers in college football.
- Davis also ranked inside the top 10 in yards per route run each year of his college career. As a senior, he gained 3.63 yards per route run which ranked second in the nation behind only fellow Titans rookie receiver Taywan Taylor.
- Davis has shown promise in very limited NFL action thus far. On debut in Week 1 he was targeted ten times, catching six passes for 69 yards against the Oakland Raiders, achieving a game grade of 75.8. This was followed by a grade of 48.1 in Week 2 which unfortunately saw him play only 23 snaps due to injury. The Titans will be looking for Davis to make an impact upon his return, as only Rishard Mathews (season grade 79.0) has achieved an overall grade of above 70.0 through the first eight weeks of 2017.
