  • Sunday may have marked the arrival of newcomer Brandin Cooks as a major contributor to the New England Patriots offense. Cooks, who was traded for first- and third-round picks this offseason, had not seen more than three receptions in his first two games as a Patriot.
  • Against the Texans, however, Cooks hauled in the game-winning, toe-tapping 25-yard touchdown with just :23 seconds on the clock on Sunday. Cooks, who was brought in to Foxboro to be an deep threat outside of the numbers, ranks first in receiving yards (187) and second in receptions (five) on deep passes 20-plus yards down the field.
  • Cooks’ 2.27 yards per route run ranks tenth and his WR rating (passer rating when targeted) of 137.5 ranks third among all wide receivers through the first three weeks
