  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes the New England Patriots will find a way to hold onto Jimmy Garoppolo after the 2017 season. Garoppolo’s contract expires after 2017 which means the Patriots could only retain him via a tag or through a contract extension.
  • Over his first 3 seasons, Garoppolo has played just 228 total snaps. In 2016, Garoppolo started two games in place of suspended Tom Brady before he himself was injured.
  • Through the first two weeks of the 2016 season, Garoppolo was sixth in adjusted-completion-percentage (80.4 percent) which included ranking fourth while under pressure (73.3 percent). Garoppolo also ranked second in passer rating under pressure (106.0).
  • His best performance to date came Week 2 of last season where he earned an overall PFF grade of 85.5, the sixth best quarterback performance of that week. He finished 2016 with a 74.7 overall grade.
