  • Houston Texans running back D’Onta Foreman suffered a ruptured Achilles in his team’s 31-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season.
  • A third-round pick in this year’s draft, Foreman has been active for every game as a rookie, playing in just over 20 percent of his team’s offensive snaps. He posted a 56.3 overall grade through 11 weeks.
  • Foreman had a productive college career at Texas, as he led the nation as a senior with 323 rushing attempts. He ranked fourth in missed tackles forced (64), but he also had seven fumbles, the most of any college running back. He averaged 3.54 yards after contact per attempt, which ranked 16th in the nation among running backs with at least 160 carries.
  • With Foreman gone for the year, starter Lamar Miller will be expected to carry an even bigger load. Miller currently has the ninth-most rushing attempts in the league (162) and has achieved a season grade of 78.6, which ranks 19th among running backs through 11 weeks.
  • Foreman’s absence will also result in an increased role for Alfred Blue, who only has 13 rushing attempts on the season. Blue ran the ball 100 times for the Texans in 2016 and achieved a season grade of 66.0.
