A.J. Bouye was a big winner in free agency this offseason, landing a huge contract to join the Jaguars.  The Texans, however, have capable options ready to step up in his absence.

  • While he spent most of his 2016 season in the slot, in 2015 Kevin Johnson lined up outside on 82.1 percent of his snaps and the former first-rounder is a prime candidate to fill the void left by A.J. Bouye's departure.
  • Johnson allowed a 51.9 completion percentage and 68.7 QB rating when targeted in 2016, both best marks on the team.
  • Over the final three weeks of the 2016 regular season, Kareem Jackson allowed just 5.9 yards per catch, third-best in the NFL during that time span.
  • Johnathan Joseph allowed a completion percentage of 59.4 when targeted in coverage in 2016.
