- The New Orleans Saints have signed G Orlando Franklin to a one-year deal. Franklin has spent the last two seasons with the Chargers. the Saints will be his first team outside of the AFC West.
- Franklin earned a grade of just 41.7 in 2016, which ranked 64th out of 73 qualifying guards. 2016 marks the second straight year Franklin has graded poorly, after grading higher than 80 in three straight seasons.
- Of the 37 guards with at least 500 pass block snaps, Franklin ranked 34th in pass blocking efficiency last season, which measures pressure allowed on a per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks allowed.
