- The Los Angeles Rams named rookie WR Copper Kupp as one of three starters on the first unofficial depth chart of training camp. The third-round pick was listed alongside free agent addition Robert Woods and veteran Tavon Austin who appear as the other two starters — Kupp is expected to run the majority of the slot routes instead of Austin and could be Jared Goff’s favorite target with the second-year QB still adjusting to the NFL game.
- Kupp earned the second-highest grade by any receiver in college football last season with an overall PFF grade of 92.0, behind only Austin Carr of Northwestern.
- Kupp dominated in college. His 140.2 passer rating when targeted was the fourth-highest among 46 qualified college receivers in 2016. He was also one of the more dangerous receivers when lined up in the slot — his 99 receptions were the second-most in college football and he also had the third-most receiving yards from there, at 1,315.
