  • Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times has reported via Twitter that Thomas Rawls currently appears to be the clear No. 1 running back for the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Earlier on in training camp Rawls was reported to be sharing reps with free agent acquisition Eddie Lacy, who has spent the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
  • Rawls missed seven games in 2016 with a leg injury and recorded an overall PFF grade of 81.7, which, despite being lower than his 2015 grade of 84.1, still ranked as the 10th-highest in the league.
  • Lacy also missed considerable time in 2016 with an ankle injury and recorded an overall grade of 82.8, which is significantly lower than the 89.6 he recorded during both of his first two seasons in the league.
  • Both backs have demonstrated the ability to make big plays in the past. In the 2015 season Rawls recorded 15 carries of 15-plus yards, fifth-most out of 52 eligible backs, with Lacy recording 11 such carries (13th). In 2014, his last injury-free season, Lacy recorded 18 15-plus-yard carries, second-most in the NFL.
