Raiders sign UDFA Are out of Florida State

  • The Oakland Raiders announced on their website that they have signed three players, including offensive lineman Kareem Are, an undrafted free agent from Florida State.
  • In 2015, Are played 572 snaps — mostly at left guard — and was ranked 146th of 312 guards with an overall PFF grade of 66.9. He was one of only five guards in the ACC with at least 290 pass-block attempts to not give up a sack, allowing four QB hits and 11 hurries in 293 snaps.
  • In 2016, Are logged 626 snaps at left guard, and his PFF grade of 44.5 was 271st of 317 guards. The decline in Are's game was in run blocking, with his run-block grade falling from 76.6 (99th of 312) in 2015 to 36.4 (272nd of 317) in 2016.
