- Indianapolis Colts QBs Scott Tolzien and Jacoby Brissett are splitting first-team practice reps this week, per Colts beat writer Zak Keefer. Brissett replaced Tolzien in the fourth quarter in the Colts’ Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
- Brissett played just nine snaps Week 1 compared to Tolzien’s 41. Tolzien earned a grade of just 33.3 last week, the second-worst grade among qualifying quarterbacks. Brissett, in his limited action, had a grade of 63.8.
- While Tolzien threw two pick-sixes last week and completed one of three passes of 20-plus air yards, Brissett completed a 50-yard bomb (47 yards in air) and two of his three deep passes. With QB Andrew Luck still injured, the Colts traded for Brissett shortly before the start of the regular season as back-up insurance behind Tolzien. If Week 1 was any indication, they may need Brissett to start sooner rather than later.
