Final Score

Buffalo Bills 27, Carolina Panthers 14

Buffalo Bills

Harrison Phillips, Buffalo's third-round pick from a year ago, turned in a strong performance against Carolina's interior offensive line. He beat several blocks on his way to a strong pass-rushing performance and limited his negative plays in the run game.

Second-year Virginia Tech product Wyatt Teller picked up where he left off last week with another strong performance against Carolina. He paved the way for the stable of Buffalo backs and had a very strong night in pass protection.

Carolina Panthers

Star defensive interior Kawann Short didn't play a ton in this one, but he was truly outstanding on the few snaps he did play. He made his presence felt rushing the passer from the interior, picking up several positive grades with pass-rush performance.

Rookie offensive tackle Dennis Daley didn't have a perfect night against Buffalo, but he played well above expectation as a pass-blocker and limited mistakes in the run game on his way to a strong performance.

Buffalo Bills

Jarron Jones, an undrafted Notre Dame product from the 2017 class, struggled significantly against the Panthers' defensive front. He couldn't catch a break in pass protection or when asked to push his opponent off the line of scrimmage in the run game.

Rookie Cody Ford didn't have the bounce-back week he needed after a tough start to his first NFL preseason a week ago. After earning a 54.2 overall grade across 32 offensive snaps in his first preseason game, Ford put together a similar performance against Carolina.

Carolina Panthers

It was not Will Grier‘s night. He was inaccurate with the football, made poor decisions from a clean and pressured pocket and didn't make up for his woes with enough good throws. He'll want to burn the tape after this one.

Offensive tackle Taylor Moton didn't play a whole lot against Carolina, but he didn't leave the field before picking up multiple negative marks in pass protection and as a run-blocker.
