- The Carolina Panthers have confirmed that TE Greg Olsen has broken his right foot. Olsen went down on a non-contact play early in the second quarter, and was seen on crutches and a walking boot at the beginning of the fourth.
- Olsen ended 2016 with a drop rate of 2.44, the third-best rate among 40 qualifying tight ends. He only dropped two of his 82 catchable targets. His 2.08 yards per route run (measures productivity on a per route basis by dividing total yards by total snaps in route) was the fourth highest among 40 qualifying tight ends.
- The veteran has graded well throughout his ten-year career, only grading below 80.0 three times. He finished 2016 with an overall grade of 88.5, which ranked second out of all qualifying tight ends.
