Lions sign G Lelito, place Dahl on IR

  • The Detroit Lions have announced via their Twitter account that they have signed free agent offensive guard Tim Lelito and placed Joe Dahl on injured reserve due to a lower leg injury.
  • Lelito spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints, with his most significant playing time coming in 2015, when he started 13 games, participating in 86 percent of the Saints offensive snaps, posting an overall grade of 77.5 in the process.
  • During the 2015 season, Lelito had a run-block grade of 87.4, which ranked seventh in the league among 74 qualifying guards.
  • Last season, Lelito’s performance in the run game dropped, with an overall grade of 66.4. However, he was able to post his highest career grade in the passing game of 73.5, and a PFF pass-block efficiency (measuring pressures allowed on a per-snap basis with a weighting toward sacks allowed) of 96.5, allowing 7 total pressures on 155 pass-block snaps.
