  • In a report by Tim Twentyman of detroitlions.com, Detroit Lions safety Miles Killebrew is “expected to see his role increase in his second season.”
  • Killebrew played 136 snaps for the Lions last season, and logged 58.2% of his snaps at linebacker, but with Rafael Bush’s departure to New Orleans in free agency, Killebrew is set to move into the third safety role behind Glover Quin and Tavon Wilson.
  • Of Killebrew’s 136 snaps, he spent 105 in coverage. He was targeted 31 times, and logged one interception and defended one pass. He allowed a passer rating of 95.4 on throws into his primary coverage, the highest mark among all Lions safeties and the ninth highest of 15 rookie safeties with at least 100 coverage snaps. He finished the 2016 with an overall grade of 54.8.
  • Killebrew had a good year tackling, and his tackle efficiency (the PFF Metric that denotes the amount of successful tackles per missed tackle) of 20.0 ranked 14th of 108 safeties in 2016.
